Hello everyone!

Do you know Shichi-Go-San ( 七五三, seven-five-three ), a traditional rite of passage and festival day in Japan?
We celebrate the growth and well-being of our children, when the boy being 3 or 5 years, and girls being 3 or 7 years.
Usually we worship the Shinto shrine on the rearest weekend of November 15th.
Last year we celebrate our son for being 5 years, and this year our daughter for being 3 years.

In this summer some designer made contact with me about the night shot of Nagasaki Port shot by me.
He was going to participate the competition by Nagasaki City, the poster for Nagasaki Lantern Festival 2014.
He found my night shot on my blog, and asked me to use it for the poster.
I accepted the offer with pleasure and cooperated with him.

In early September I was contacted by him again and he said his work won the competition and accepted as the official poster design of Lantern Festival 2014!!

The photo shot by me, used by him is below.

The poster will be put on the bulletin boards in all over Japan, stations, airports, various facilities.
It is a great honor for me!!

Hi! :D

So sorry for my long absence, I'm still alive and quite good, working hard and keeping to take photos when I have enough time.
I've not updated my journal for a long time, and today I wanna show you some pics of mine shot in Shimabara Hina Dolls Fes and in my house.
Shimabara is located in the east of Nagasaki Pref, and it's a very beautiful city.
The canal made by spring water around the city, and Shimabara castle, Fugen-dake  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Un… etc are very famous in Japan.
As usual, by clicking each pics you can see large sized pics ;)

This doll is not Hina doll, but decorated in some buke yashiki.
I was very amazed with the beauty of the doll.

The pond is closely attached to the architecture of old Japanese house.
Ancient Japanese Samurai class people enjoyed the beauty of the garden like this.

Small street in the town.

Btw....I got new hobby last summer, and I'm so so so interested in it recently.
It's....aquarium!
My son asked me to buy some ricefish medaka in August, and we bought some of them.
We started to feed them with very small water tank, and gradually  I was very fascinated by aquarium.
Next month I bought another 60cm tank, started to feed characins, and in December I added another 60cm tank and 45cm tank.
Now I enjoy to feed fishes, and decorate the water plants everyday.
Here are some pics of the fishes I feed.

22

1st 60cm tank in my personal room.
Equipped with EHEIM 2215, fermented CO2.
Neon terta, Hemigrammus erythrozonus, Pristella maxillaris, Corydorases, Otocinclus, Japanese marsh shrimp, Neocaridina denticulata denticulata.
The pic shows the Riccia with air bubble, and Japanese marsh shrimp

25

2nd 60cm tank in my personal room.
Equipped with EHEIM 500, mini bottled CO2.
Blue tetra, White Cloud Mountain minnow, Rosy bitterling, Japanese marsh shrimp.
The tank is laid out with various water plants, Java moss, Blyxa, Micranthemum micranthemoides, Rotala indica, Riccia, and Eleocharis parvula, etc.

26

3rd 45cm tank in the living room in my house.
Equipped with Bottom-in filter and pomp, fermented CO2.
Platy, Poecilia velifera, Colisa lalia, Neon tetra, Otocinclus, Japanese marsh shrimp.
My daughter loves to watch the fishes in the living room :aww:

27

Do you see the small fishes?
They are the Platy fry born in last month!!
At first I did'nt noticed them, and one day my wife told me that there were some small fishes we've ever seen in the tank.
Most of fry are usually eaten by other fishes ( sometimes by their parent fish XX ), but in this tank 8 fry survived, grew to the size which other fishes can't eat.
We're very happy with new lives!!

Phew, as usual my journal is too long...I'm so sorry!
See you in next journal

Hello everyone! :)

Recently I'm much busier than the past, with my real work, and the care for my son and daughter :D
I don't have enough time to go out for shooting, and haven't shot so much last month ;;
How is your new year? Everything is good?

I'm beginning to feel the stress of that I don't have my free time, but Lady luck smiled on me last friday.
There was a telephone call for me at night, and the number was unfamiliar.
That was from the web shop that I bought my new PC in last December.
Then the person in charge of the shop said to me,
"You entered our prize contest when you bought the PC, and this time you won the first prize!"
Ahhhhh I remember, I just entered with no interest then !!!
"Oh great! so what's the prize?"
"Toshiba's 32inch flat panel TV! Congraturlations!!"
He told me the model of the TV, and it's the same model of that I own in the living room of my house.
I was just talking with my wife to buy new TV in our bedroom and the news was notified to us at just the right moment! :D
After the talk, I checked the number indicated on the phone, and searched on the web, then confirmed the number was actually from the shop I bought my PC.
(because in Japan the frauds using phonecall are rampant....XD )
And the TV arrived safely to my house last night!!! Thanx GOD!!

Btw...for 4 years since I got first dSLR in April 2007, I've shot many many pics, and the works in my gallery on dA are just the part of them.
There are much more unseen works. This time I wanna show you some series of them :)
All of them were shot with Canon EOS 400D (though now I use Nikon).

Take care...it's too long journal! ^^;

New life

4 min read
Sorry, recently I'm not here on dA so much for weeks.
In last month, my new baby girl was born!!
I'm in my house alone for months, and my wife, son, and new baby are at her parent's house in Sasebo.
Every weekend I go to Sasebo and see them, and play with my son all holidays, because my son is jealous of my daughter...:D
Moreover I've been busy with my real work, and couldn't shoot so much and couldn't make time for creative work.
Anyway I'm now very very happy with my new family, and I named her Ayane (it means "beautiful sound" in Japanese Kanji).
