Ancient Japanese RoomToday I went to Dejima Document Library.
Do you know Dejima?
Dejima (出島)was a fan-shaped artificial island in the bay of Nagasaki that was a Dutch trading post during Japan's self-imposed isolation (sakoku) of the Edo period, from 1641 until 1853.
[link]As you can see (or as you know), ancient Japanese room is very simple, and there are not so much furnitures.
This is the business architecture, but common people's room was much simple.
(I guess the reason is that ancient Japanese people usually thought that the poverty was a virtue).
